Erased is a publication that explores erasure and removal and argues that the two are very different acts. Using a Levi's Made & Crafted lookbook from their Spring/Summer 2014 collection, each spread shows what's left when context has been erased. In this case, the models' clothes and the beautiful images of a mountainous landscape that inspired the collection have been erased.
If the clothes had simply been removed, we'd see spreads of naked bodies and immediately assume some sort of context as to why they are naked. But because their clothes have been physically (well, digitally) erased, the context is erased as well. It becomes more about the interest and beauty of the white forms and the floating limbs rather than its message or meaning.
